Dear Friends,
This election was a huge upset for so many of us. You, too?
I watched the election returns and felt bewildered — like a personal earthquake rocked my world and left me unsettled.
Then I realized: There must be a way to use advanced coaching skills to recover my resilience quickly. In fact, I want to support all of us to use this breakdown as a source for fresh hope and energy.
So I’m hosting a free Zoom videoconference call. The purpose is to support each other to restore our capacity for hope and our momentum for change, even in the face of deep disappointment.
This is a facilitated forum to listen deeply to the cares and concerns of all…and to find creative ways to manage our own mood for greater resilience.
When: Thursday, November 10, 5pm-6pm Pacific time
Where: Join from PC, Mac, Linux, iOS or Android: https://zoom.us/j/619453225
(or dial: +1 646 558 8656 or +1 408 638 0968, meeting ID: 619 453 225)
This is not a forum to complain, blame, vent, take sides, or make others feel better. Rather, it’s a time for thoughtful exploration about how to manage our inner world when the outer world is not cooperating!
Format:
- I’ll share some core ideas from my Powerful Conversations coaching toolkit about how to transform a breakthrough into an opportunity for renewal and connection.
- We’ll use a brief guided exercise to get grounded and ready for respectful dialogue.
- We’ll enter into a facilitated dialogue. We will listen and learn from each other as we share our deep cares and concerns and offer our inspired ideas.
- I may work with a few individuals in a coaching format, if it seems useful for all, but otherwise there is no set agenda.
If you join via the web interface, you can see everyone and join in a chat dialogue as we go. Otherwise, phone is fine. (If you are new to Zoom, join a few minutes early to download a harmless plug-in. It’s easy and free.)
I’m mostly inviting my tribe of coaches, consultants, and others in the “people development” field, but anyone is welcome. Many people on this call have deep experience in facilitating personal change, so I expect a rich dialogue.
Please share this widely (Facebook, email, etc.) with anyone who may benefit, along with your personal encouragement. Space is limited, but there is strength in numbers!
Wishing you courage and compassion,
Warmly,
Steve
